FiendDish.com was there and enjoyed some excellent food! I had Swordfish with citrus BBQ Sauce and also Seabass with a sweet soy glaze, bok choy and wasabi! There was fruit and ice carving contests, live music and much more on a beautiful sunny breezy day!

Fiend Dish affiliate David "Nipple" Neblett reports that the "Oysters are Jumbo" in New Orleans! and that the food is great in New Orleans, period! Nipple reports that he gained 10 pounds but still looked pretty skinny (compared to me)! we met up at Sandbar in Coconut Grove, FL for their Fish Taco special: 2 for 1 every Monday! They are good! Great Place to watch the Sunset!

Conch chowder was good and spicy but not enough "conch rocks!!!"

I ordered a signature dish of Yellowtail topped with a crab cake and bernaise sauce!!! Sounded insane... but wasn't though! The fish did not seem very fresh, the crab cake was too "bready" and the bernaise sauce was like an egg yolk! I returned it and got the Fresh Mahi which was much better. The waiter said sauteed was the best but I should have got it grilled though. The view is "ridic" at this place! They have a Sunday brunch and also will cook your catch for $15 a head. Here's a few clips...The day I went was lil cloudy but on a clear day, the sunset... fuggedaboutit!!!!!!

Greek Tuna Salad w/ Pickles!

On a low carb kick!!!! but since i am a fiend here's how I get down! Greens, sliced whole dill pickles, blue cheese crumbles(***a little goes a very long way! So don't go nuts with the blue cheese because that sh*t is "veddy stankeee" & pungent!!!!!and you'll have more for the next salad!!!), sunflower seeds, Greek Vinaigrette dressing (sold in the store, has some feta in it! Oh AAight!!)
and Tuna!!! Preferrably Ahi Tuna Broiled or baked (aout 20 minutes for thawed tuna steak at 450 degrees), Just Canned or tuna salad works perfect too!(but ahi steaks rule, goto BJ's or Costco and get the Ahi Tuna phat sac!). If you have space get a deep freezer. It's the best for food fiends in need of quantity & Quality at all times!

Forgot to mention I threw in some red onlion sliced thin and some cilantro on top of the fish! Look at the love on this fiend dish!

for dessert...no sugar swiss miss hot chocolate!

By the way, Valencia Oranges are 90X better than FL oranges. Sorry "Flo Rida!" 305 MIA Rep all day up in here though.

Fish Parmesean

Bake the fish fillet of your choice covered with a half jar tomato sauce. when almost cooked, top with large portion of Mozzerella cheese.

Fiend Dish Alert!

Take a rinsed can of garbanzo beans. Add the juice of half a lemon. Salt, pepper and oregano. Mix.

Add desired amount of garbanzo mixture too the Fish Parmesean.

All goes well together and may be low carb!

**********Add parmesean cheese!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way, check out this fish sauce for another day!

Combine all ingredients and serve on top of grilled or broiled fish!

1/2 lemon, zest and juice
1 clove garlic, minced
2 teaspoons capers
1 teaspoon cumin
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 teaspoon whole grain mustard
1 teaspoon olive oil

Add fresh mangoes to a Strawberry Rhubarb Pie.

Here how to make any fruit pie:

preheat oven to 400.

Combine the following:
3-4 cups chopped fruit
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup corn starch (key ingredient for filling to thicken)
zest of 1 lemon (or less is fine)
Juice of Half a lemon
1/4 tspn salt
1 tspn cinnamon

Get 2 pre-made pie crust shells. Thaw if frozen. Fill one and use the other to cover the fruit filling mixture. Cut a few slices in the top (to let steam out while baking).

Bake at 400 for 20 minutes. Reduce the heat to 300 and bake an additional 25 minutes.

Let cool or eat hot if you are fiending! Don't forget the vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Hit That FIEND DISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Figure the rest out and enjoy!

I recently celebrated my birthday at The Palm in Coral Gables! I enjoyed it very much and do recommend going! I enjoyed a ceasar salad which was decent but nothing special, the fresh Hearts of Palm was great though! I had the Swordfish with lemon butter, Mom had the Halibut and my Fiance had the Tuna seared rare of course(We are fish fiends). The fish is actually great at the Palm, a well-known a known steakhouse. The preparation is simple and lets the food speak for itself. Everything was good along with the service but the 5 layer carrot cake was truly out of this galaxy! It was the best dessert I've had in maybe my life! It's worth going just for that. A good place to drink wine as well. Nice selection by the glass or bottle! 8.5 out of 10 overall! It would have been a 9 out of 10 but they tried to sell me a membership card at the end. Their 837 Club probably does offer some good deals but well, you know what I mean.

The best Peanut Dressing on a fresh salad and thai coconut curries- try the Masaman or panang! Like spicy? Ask for the Papaya Salad "Spicy"!, an item you will not find on the menu and that's not always available. I think it's funny how their friendly staff always comments on my bravery and love of eating spicy Papaya Salad! Sushi also! Try the American Dream roll #2! (#1 is good too) It's got a white sauce and eel! Nuff Said! Desert? Ask for fresh Lychees! 9 out of 10 for food, 9 out of 10 for consistency, 9 out of 10 for service (that means good!)

Saturday May 10th, 2008 I had lunch at what appeared to be from the outside and empty dark restaurant! But in front there was a small flashing "open" sign, and another sign that read "Peruvian Seafood". I thought, Hmm if that restaurant is empty and they are selling seafood, that could be a bad mix! My curiosity and quest to find the next "Hot Ticket" restaurant pushed me inside the front door! My plan was to politely ask for a menu and if it looked scary just turn around! Well... As soon as I open the door and walked passed the dark tinted windows I found a warm and inviting home style Peruvian Restaurant with actual people who all looked quite content at their tables!! I immediately asked for a table! I ordered a corona and the "Fish Ceviche", then also added a side of Fried Yucca. The Ceviche was about $12. The plate arrived looking like it was just caught! I mean the ceviche was obviously made to order because the fish still had that raw look which is how it's supposed to be done. Many Peruvian Seafood restaurants make their ceviche in large batches which makes the fish chewy as it's been marinating and "cooking" in the lime juice for too long! This was the real deal and I am like a fish "Hooked"! What was also great was that two sauces come on the side, one very hot, the other... "I can't feel my face" hot! and That is how I like to feel when I eat! I like an experience! The fried yucca came with delicious sauce! and it was a perfect meal! I didn't need anything else, but I did order another Corona! You will need it if you hit the hot sauce! This place is the real deal! That's all I had this time but it's all you need! I am officially on a ceviche kick and ceviche diet! The staff gave good service! Highly recommended!

Long John Silvers, Kendall

So what do you do when you crave Seafood and your near the Tamiami Airport in Kendall? You go to BoneFish Grill of course! But what happens when you're starving and Bonefish doesn't open until 4pm and it's 12:25pm right now? You goto the closest Seafood spot you can find, and that would be Long John Silvers which is in the same shopping center as Bonefish! We were not expecting seared Sushi grade tuna from there, but damn it was niz! (nasty)! They specialize in "Grease Fish"! Basically everything is fried! I had the "Grease Fish" platter, which came with hush puppies and cole slaw, Alex had the Monster Shrimp platter, which we coined "Greasy breaded shrimp with a monster amount of breading to hold a lot of grease"! Alex also ordered a side of biscuits in order to concoct an ultimately fiendish and rich "Shrimp Biscuit"! I ordered a side of mac & cheese. The fries were not hot and overcooked. Try to avoid the fries, too much fried food! I would have to recommend the fried fish with slaw and rice! You see, fried fish is fine...until you commingle it with fried potatoes and fried corn bread (hush puppies). By the way "Hush Puppies" got their name as left over fried scraps fed to the dogs under the table in order to "Hush" the "Puppies", brilliant concept, I love it! Strictly Dog Food! Moving on... just so you know, a "side of biscuits" equals one biscuit (KFC cohabitates at this location)! Also, be sure to check your hand after grasping your soda cup. You see, Alex had an unidentified substance on his hand immediately after taking his first sip of soda! My cup did not seem to be contaminated luckily! Well anyway, it was not as expensive as Bonefish would have been and we did get full, but Alex felt like robbing a bank after we ate! Well, I guess that "Do Not Enter" sign right in front of the restaurant was a fair warning! Check out this Visual Tour!

Overall Not Bad! Beer is priced "to sell" as we say in Real Estate! Sweet Potato fries were good! Salmon Burger was OK, cheesesteak sub was OK too (according to Alex, because meat... I don't hit that! I am strictly seafood like my boy Dave "Nipple") We Met Some drunk guy who had been "playing golf on a course full of duck Sh*t all day", he was very "drills" as we say (that means drunk...you'll start to learn my lingo, don't worry). The staff was cool! and better yet, some of the waitresses like to wear those Brazilian jeans! OK Great! We couldn't quite figure out what was "LA" about it though! The menu was large and offered many different styles of food. One of the night's specials involved Edamame! Edamame? At LA Sports Bar? Yes! We didn't get that either! But I guess they do it all! (and so do not specialize in any one thing, although some items may be "hitting" (good). If they took more of a page from "Hooligan's book" we'd probably like it better!
